Medical Services
Often when we think of medical services Doctors, Nurses and Medical practitioners in a hospital or in a medical facility. Seldom do we naturally consider the services of the Hospital Administration, Medical Equipment, Medical Supplies, Housekeeping and Medical billing as traditional medical services.
Today in a Technological age, Computerized Body Imaging, Communication skills, Internet Technology, Computer Programming, Software Maintenance are vital services needed to maintain the operation of the hospital, requiring a substantial yearly budget and additional employees to fill these positions.
Medical procedures, injections, and blood makes me uneasy. 1989 Gracie broke her foot, as she fell I literally saw where the broken bone ended and the bottom part of her foot dangled lifelessly beneath her skin. Instinctively, I got the courage of mind to snap the broken dangling foot back into place and gently place the foot upon a bucket for elevation. As we drove to the hospital, the Ambulance dropped into a few potholes, oh! did she ever cry out in pain as the Ambulance speed to the hospital.
As she waited for the team of Podiatry Doctors to come, her pain grew increasingly worst. Finally when the Doctor came and she began to bandage her foot, she told Gracie, “this is going to hurt,” as she cried out in pain, I slightly sprinkled my pants and began to cry out in pain, the doctor asked me “if I want to wait out side,” I said no.
Emotional I was shaken by the accident, for sure I could not be in the Medical Profession.
My grandmother used to say, “if your’re sick and Donna is around you’re in good hands”. Solace, compassion, prayers yes, I’m good at that. I know for sure, that may people are in the same stance as me, we cannot have medical careers.
The computer age has place an additional demand upon the Hospital Administrative services, these services have become especially vital to the team of Surgeons in the Operating room, as most advance surgical equipment operates through high definition imaging.
Today it’s estimated that 1/3 of all hospital staff are employed in Administrative positions in the hospital.
While seeking employment, remember that your local hospitals are in demand for employees to fill various Administrative positions. End
